V-Day University of Calgary 2013 is proud to present a benefit production of Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues. The award-winning play is based on V-Day Founder/playwright Eve Ensler’s interviews with more than 200 women. With humor and grace the piece celebrates women’s sexuality and strength. Through this play and the liberation of this one word, countless women throughout the world have taken control of their bodies and their lives. For more than 15 years, The Vagina Monologues has given voice to experiences and feelings not previously exposed in public.
Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Discovery House, a local organization devoted to the safety and well-being of women with children leaving domestic violence.
V-Day is a global activist movement to stop violence against women and girls. V-Day University of Calgary “The Vagina Monologues” 2013, directed by Dr. Shirley Steinberg, is proudly presented by the Women’s Resource Centre in collaboration with the Werklund Foundation Centre for Youth Leadership Education.
