Lecture: “Why Did They Kill? Revisiting the Holocaust Perpetrators”
We are honoured to be hosting Dr. Christopher Browning, one of the world’s foremost Holocaust historians. His lecture will compare the various interpretations and theories regarding German perpetrators and the motivations behind the Jewish genocide. This is a topic that will appeal to a wide audience, anyone who is interested in social psychology, human rights, genocide, or the many political, legal, and moral issues emerging from the Holocaust.
Professor Browning has published many influential, best-selling and award-winning books, including Ordinary Men: Reserve Police Battalion 101 and The Final Solution in Poland. He has also given expert witness testimony in the trial of alleged Nazi perpetrators for the Canadian Department of Justice and the British War Crimes Branch.
The event is free and open to the public. So please join us on February 4th for an entertaining and thought-provoking evening, as we revisit one of the most disturbing and controversial events in modern times.
Reception, 6:30 p.m.; lecture, 7 p.m.
