Topics will range through key historical events and ideas that have helped create the conditions for these relations and tensions today.
Dr. Troy Patenaude, PhD, is a cultural and art historian, guide, curator, and educator currently working as the Director of Cultural Development at Fort Calgary. He is a descendent of an Indigenous bois-brûlé community in the Upper Great Lakes, and has been involved with initiatives concerning the effects of colonization for almost 20 years. Dr. Patenaude also teaches Indigenous studies and art history at the Alberta University of the Arts, and is dedicated to helping make Canada a more just and resilient place.
