In the 1800s Tuponia was short-listed as a potential name for Canada, an acronym for The United Provinces of North America. Bee Kingdom glass collective’s Ryan Fairweather and Phil Bandura have imagined what it would be like walking around as Tuponians.
Tuponia is a blown glass exhibition themed around our northern culture infused with the fantastical ring of Tuponia’s name. This new body of artwork fantasizes about an alternative northern land where marshmallows have feelings, Ghost Yetis lead secretive lives in the forest, and where you might even spot the elusive, majestic, Moosacorn!
Opening receptions Friday, March 2, 5-9 p.m., and Saturday, March 3, 2-5 p.m.
