When you work at used-book store, you find some interesting things between the covers of people’s tattered tomes. (Jacquie Moore looked at the treasures discovered in the books donated to the CBC Calgary Reads and Servant Anonymous Society book sales last year in Swerve.) This being the 21st century, of course there’s a Tumblr that gathers discoveries like these. The Strand Bookstore in New York (home to 18 miles of books) posts images, notes, underlined passages and other discoveries from its massive used book intake on its Tumblr (strandbooks.tumblr.com). It’s more proof that books do a fine job of storing your paper mementos—as long as you remember to shake them loose before you sell them. —Jon Roe
