If you’re heading to the mountains this weekend for the Lake Louise Winterstart World Cup 2012 (Nov. 24 through Dec. 2), plan ahead and take advantage of Bon Appetit Banff. Participating restaurants, which range from the Banff Ave. Brewing Co. to the Bow Valley Grill at the Banff Springs, are offering three-course menus (with three options per course) for $25, $35 or $45. But the promotion only lasts until Sunday, Nov. 25. Make your reservations now on the website, because there are some tasty deals available.
Speaking of deals, kids ski free at Louise during the World Cup activities. On Nov. 24, Nov. 25, Dec. 1 and Dec. 2, just say, “Go Canada Go” at the ticket counter to receive two free child lift tickets. The promo is valid with the purchase of an adult lift ticket and is good for children up to 12 years of age.
And if you have an hour to spare, check out at Paper Chic by Claire Uhlick at the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies. The show and sale features the Edmonton artist’s work with paper, including wearable art, such as this cuff. It’s created with maps of Toronto (but we won’t tell if you don’t). The piece is part of Uhlick’s new line of folded and woven paper and parchment jewelry called clu. The show runs through Jan. 8.
